PURPOSE DRIVEN

The Purpose
The purpose of the Oregon Conservation Corps is to serve the people of Oregon by:
1. REDUCING the risk of wildfire.
Protecting homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure.
2. ASSISTING in the creation of Fire-Adapted Communities.
Defined as a community located in a fire-prone area that requires little assistance from firefighters during a wildfire.
3. ENGAGING young adults in workforce training.
This training is designed to close employment gaps—particularly among those in underserved communities—by providing youth (ages 16 through 26) with valuable workforce experience, including the hard and soft skills required to launch a successful career.
The Wildland Urban Interface
Oregon Conservation Corps crews are removing hazardous fuels that endanger homes in the highest risk areas of our state.
